Willingly? Reading?

I've never been a very avid reader. I read many books in school, however, it was never really pleasurable or voluntary. As a kid I preffered reading encyclopedias that had pages of iinformation on species, but always included a picture to visualize. As time passed, I did get more into reading actual books, however, I'd begin to grow impatient while reading them and forget about it. I feel as though sometimes while seeing a story unfold, I get too anxious and want to skip to the end. This always happens with shows, and books were no exception. Everytime I'd start a book I'd end up getting annoyed at the pace and read the ending. It felt to me that books were too slow paced. However, now I'm trying to slowly build-up a liking for reading. Or at least try to become more patient in order to follow through with books. I motivate myself to read by reading a little slower at first so that I can fully think of each word I'm reading. This is because sometimes, I'd re-read setnences over and over but somehow it wouldn't click. Reading it a little slower in the beginning helps your brain soothe into focusing.
